Identification and Recruitment Training

The Identification and Recruitment Training Program is currently under development. Please revisit this site for updates.

  • The ID&R training package is based on a curriculum framework for recruiters
    • Designed to develop and enhance eligibility training
    • Ongoing professional development of ID&R recruiters.
  • Based on OME Draft Identification and Recruitment Manual.
  • Will be comprised of:
    • Training Program Objectives
    • Learning Outcomes
    • Scope and Sequence Chart
    • Teaching Methodology
    • Assessment.

Objectives for ID&R Training

State and local Migrant Education Program personnel will:

  • Understand the background of the MEP, the requirements of the MEP, and the duties and responsibilities of a recruiter.
  • Implement practices that reflect awareness of ID&R policies, procedures, and parameters.
  • Implement practices that result in the efficient identification and recruitment of migrant children.
  • Implement practices that result in reliable and valid child eligibility determinations.
  • Are aware of and adhere to ethical standards of behavior in child eligibility determinations.
  • Implement practices that strengthen coordination between migrant families, the school(s), and the community.
