Peer-to-Peer Network

The goal of the Peer-to-Peer Network is share innovative and/or practical solutions for program issues (not including ID&R) among MEPs through a network of migrant education practitioners with expertise and/or experience in the MEP. Services include:

  • Referring state directors to readily available information or persons that may be of assistance, or;
  • Brokering the services of a Peer Consultant (i.e., arranging and supporting access to a Peer Consultant, whether through an onsite or technology enhanced consultation). These individuals will be available to your state for assistance at no cost. Simply place a request for a particular individual through your state director.

The MERC will accept requests for a peer-to-peer consultation only from State MEP Directors. The requests can be submitted either through a call to the toll-free Migrant Education Resource Center line or through the members-only State Directors’ section of the website.

How to Search for a Peer

There are three ways to search for a peer in the network using the input boxes below.

Search by Last Name
This is the default search. Type in the peer's last name and click "Search." Peers with this last name will appear along with their contact information. Hyphenated names should be submitted as "Brown-Smith."
Search by State
When you click the arrow on the "Search By..." drop box you have the option to search by state. Once you select this, the screen will change and a list of states will appear. Select the state or states you would like to search, and click “Search." Peers located in those states will appear along with their contact information.
Search by Area of Expertise
When you click the arrow on the "Search By" drop box below you have the option to search by area of expertise. Once you select this, the screen will change and a list of areas of expertise will appear. Select the area or areas of expertise you would like to search, then click "search." Peers with those areas of expertise will appear along with their contact information. In this option, by clicking the buttons under the "Search by..." windows, you can select to show peers that fit any of the criteria you selected or you can select to just show peers that fit all the criteria you selected.
